Pastor Search

We are seeking a senior pastor to lead their congregation to be a Christ-centered body of believers offering “a place to belong” within the body of Christ and “a place to become” equipped to share God's love with a changing community.

Principal Function

The pastor shall be the spiritual leader of the church. It shall be the duty of the pastor to preach to the church, to administer or to cause to be administered the ordinances of the gospel, to act as moderator at the conferences when present, and to perform the various other duties incumbent on his office.

The pastor is responsible for leading the church to function as a New Testament church. The pastor will lead the congregation, the organizations, and the church staff to perform their tasks.

The pastor is leader of pastoral ministries in the church. As such he works with the deacons and the church staff to: (1) lead the church in the achievement of its mission, (2) proclaim the gospel to believers and unbelievers, and (3) care for the church's members and other persons in the community.

The pastor will, as all members, hold to the doctrinal beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention as described in the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree is required, with a master’s degree from a Southern Baptist seminary preferred. A minimum of pastoral experience (at least at an associate pastor level) of 5 years is required, with senior pastor experience preferred.

Reporting Relationships

The pastor shall be responsible to the body of deacons and the personnel team for fulfillment of job responsibilities and expectations. The pastor shall also be the direct supervisor of any ministerial staff. Non-ministerial staff will be supervised and evaluated by the personnel team.


  • Guide the congregation in discipleship and evangelism via the church’s mission and vision
  • Preach Sunday morning and Sunday evening services
  • Lead mid-week (Wednesday) evening prayer service or discipleship classes
  • Provide for supply preaching if not available on Sunday
  • Be an ex-officio leader in all teams (attendance not required)
  • Hospital visitations and officiate funerals and marriages, if needed
  • As with all church work: any other things that might pop up :)
